Top Instagram Updates & Features in July
To help you stay up-to-date with the latest Instagram updates in July and adjust your business to them, we put together a list of the latest updates you may not know about.
“See Translation” feature.
Instagram offers the feature to translate text in posts and captions, and also now adding this feature to Stories. This will make it easier for users to share Stories with international audiences as well. The new text translation feature for Stories will be made available globally, and it currently offers support for 90 languages.
Sensitive Content Control feature.
Insta will be provide “Sensitive Content Control” feature that include “posts that may be sexually suggestive or violent” or promote things like tobacco or pharmaceutical use.
To view “Sensitive Content Control”, you just need to go to your profile, tap on the Settings menu in the upper right corner, and tap again on Account. Then see the “Sensitive Content Control,” just click on it. And get 3 options, including Limit, Allow, and Limit Even More. You can change your selection at any time.
Instagram Comment Limit feature.
App is now limiting the number of comments users can make per day, to combat spam and bots. This limitation will be seen as a negative change by many people who enjoy commenting on posts they like or find interesting.
In-testing this month: new “Collab” feature.
With “Collab” feature, users can invite a collaborator to their Feed Post and Reels and they can share the content with their followers. And if they accept, then they will be shown as an author, the content will be shared to their Profile Grid and to their followers in Feed, and you will both see your shared feedback. First the “Collab” feature will be testing in India.
Also, this month Insta boss Adam Mosseri said that Instagram is “no longer a photo-sharing app”.
Instead, the company is making fundamental changes to what people see when they open the app, he has announced.
“At Instagram we’re always trying to build new features that help you get the most out of your experience. Right now we’re focused on four key areas: Creators, Video, Shopping and Messaging” – he said.
